This year the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) Congress in Düsseldorf will host the 4th global Pharmacy Technician Symposium
More than 3,000 pharmacists and pharmacy technicians will gather from over 80 different countries.
Pharmacy technicians are important members of the pharmacy team, fulfilling many new as well as traditional roles. Working with pharmacists, they facilitate increased access to an expanded scope of pharmacy services. This collaboration can be compared to that of a pilot and co-pilot.
Join us in Düsseldorf to:
- define and develop future roles for pharmacy technicians
- identify the competencies of technicians and how they will grow
- discuss education to make practice even better
- participate in small workshops and be inspired by case studies from all over the world
- start a new network of colleagues and friends
- set the agenda for your profession
This year it’s your chance to see how German pharmacy technicians and their colleagues are working. A visit to a pharmacy will be organised: the Adler-Apotheke in Velbert, close to Düsseldorf. On Wednesday 30 September Dr Pfeifer will welcome you in his pharmacy. You will learn about the processes in the pharmacy, collaborative practice, how legislation in Germany affects the daily practice. Also you will hear about the supply of a prescription with specialist counselling, verifying a substance and compounding an ointment.
Dr Pfeifer regularly welcomes guests from other countries. You can take a preview here and see the online presence of a pharmacy that has been around already from 1902. The visit will start at 9.30 hours. This visit has been initiated by the German Pharmacy Technicians Association (BVPta).
To register for this visit, please subscribe on the list available during the symposium.
On Monday 28 September there is the chance to network informally, from 19:00 on. This event will take place in the famous Düsseldorf brewery "Im Füchschen": www.fuechschen.de in the old town. A space will be reserved for the group. The social event will be at the participants' own cost. More information will be given during the first day of the Symposium.
See you at the symposium!
